Not every memorial is grand. In the Aerodrom district of Skopje, a memorial fountain dedicated to Toše Proeski stands on a children's street named after him. A large portrait of the smiling singer looks out over the fountain.

Naming a children's street after Toše fits his record: as a UNICEF ambassador he spent years raising money for children's health and schools, and many of his youngest fans grew up with the Super Toše comic. The fountain turns that connection into a daily part of neighbourhood life rather than a once-a-year pilgrimage.

No organised events — just families, children and the occasional fan passing by. Flowers sometimes appear on anniversaries.
