Memorial places
This directory lists ten real places connected with Toše Proeski or with the way people remember him. The board's anchor address is the Toše Proeski Memorial House in the Gumenje neighbourhood of Kruševo; distances are given from there.
In and around Kruševo — the Memorial House and, close by, his grave and chapel; Makedonium, the Ilinden monument where his bust stands inside the dome; the 1903 battle site of Mečkin Kamen; and the birth house of the painter Nikola Martinoski, now a gallery.
Bitola (about 53 km) — the music school where he studied solo singing.
Skopje — the National Arena that has carried his name since 2019 and where he gave his last concert; the bronze statue on the Art Bridge; Macedonia Square, where the city gathered with candles in October 2007; and a memorial fountain on a children's street in Aerodrom.
Each page covers location, history, event style and visitor information. We do not publish opening hours or prices because they change and we cannot verify them; please confirm locally before travelling and read our visiting etiquette. A suggested itinerary is in the memorial route.
